Vicki Johnson-Lawrence

Dr. Johnson-Lawrence is a social epidemiologist interested in the application of epidemiologic methods that capture the dynamic nature of socioecologic and psychosocial factors over the life course, and how these factors contribute to the risk of having comorbid chronic conditions, and particularly mental and physical illnesses.

Dr. Johnson-Lawrence’s current projects address the extent to which multimorbidities influence well-being and successful aging over the life course, and the role of patient experiences with health and self-management using both clinical and nationally representative data sources.  She explores the use innovative and advanced data science methods to investigate health management efforts within underserved and vulnerable populations across socioecologic contexts, and expects these studies to inform future research to determine the most effective combinations of existing health management strategies that reduce population health inequities. .
