Kavitha is a MSW student at the University of Michigan School of Social Work concentrating in Interpersonal Practice and Mental Health. She received her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University double majoring in Psychology and Government.
As an undergrad she did research on emotional attachment and affect regulation in the Personality, Attachment, and Control Lab. She hopes to conduct research and further the study of the social construction and socialization of gender and other intersecting identities at the GendHR Lab. She plans to pursue a career that combines social work practice, research, and advocacy to continue the understanding of how social identities and their intersectionality shape the variety of human experience and influence well-being.
